My Son Sanctuary: Heritage preservation and promotion

Since the G-tower project finished in 2013, Italian experts have cooperated with Vietnam to establish a thematic gallery at My Son Museum to present the results of 10-year research, archaeology, and restoration there.

Tower G is considered a model for the restoration of Cham relics in Central Vietnam. Most of the objects on display are digitalized.

At the same time, the management and protection of 1,158 hectares of special-use forests are receiving much attention, especially the use of technological applications for forest patrol.

After the Covid-19 pandemic, there has been a change in the international and potential tourist markets of My Son Sanctuary. The tourism promotion may be done traditionally or by using digital technology.

To help the heritage be closer to tourists, My Son has developed several online programmes on social networks (Facebook, YouTube), such as My Son Sanctuary, which provides necessary information and quick experiences; Following the History of the Formation and Development of My Son Sanctuary; History of Tower Group A Before and After Restoration; and Spring by the Ancient Tower.

The investment in My Son Sanctuary, especially digital transformation and technological infrastructure, has been done via socialisation.

The website VR360 of My Son world cultural heritage came into operation on October 20th, 2022, providing general  information about the heritage, sending digital 3D museum to Map 3D Bizverse World.

Besides, visitors can access different corners of My Son Sanctuary via the Metaverse system, even though they are not there.

In addition, the Audio Guide, which was launched on June 19, 2023, helps visitors to My Son Sanctuary have more information about the heritage. It has 6 languages for choice, including Vietnamese, English, French, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese.
