(QNO) - My Son A10 pedestal which is preserved at tower group A of My Son temple complex in Quang Nam province’s Duy Xuyen district has just been recognised as a Vietnam’s national treasure.
Reportedly, My Son A10 pedestal dating back to between the 9th and 10th centuries is a square one assembled from 17 sandstone blocks in 5 overlapped layers.
The pedestal is 2.26m high, 2.58m long and 2.58m wide. It also has a set of Linga and Yoni.
My Son A10 pedestal still remains intact. It was discovered during the restoration work at My Son site by Vietnamese and Indian experts in May last year.
Currently, Quang Nam has three national treasures, including My Son A10 pedestal, Ekamukhalinga pedestal discovered in My Son and the head of a Shiva statue, currently kept at the Quang Nam Museum.
