(QNO) - The signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on setting up the friendship and development through cultural cooperation and exchanges was organized in Hoi An city (Quang Nam province) by the Hoi An city’s Center for Culture and Sports and International Mask Arts and Culture Organisation (IMACO) on November 15.

The MoU consists of three main issues: friendship and regular cooperation via cultural exchanges, such as cultural and art performances and exhibitions, people-to-people exchanges. Giving his speech at the event, UNESCO’s Chairman of the World Council for Arts and Culture Kwon Young Sae remarked on the cultural exchange and cooperation relationship between IMACO and 134 organisations and communities of 64 countries in order to promote cultural exchanges between members and positively propagate their culture.

According to leader of IMACO, the signing of the MoU brings IMACO and the Hoi An city’s Center for Culture and Sports together towards a bright future of mutual understanding, sustainable cooperation for higher ideals. The event took place on the occasion of Andong Cultural Day in Hoi An city. Andong city belongs to Gyeongsangbuk province, a famous place with Hahoe cultural village-a UNESCO World Heritage site and a traditional mask dance- a South Korea’s important intangible heritage.

In Quang Nam Heritage Festival 2017, the art delegations from Andong and Vietnam had an exchange programme. In September, the art delegation of Hoi An city performed in Andong Mask Festival 2017 in South Korea.
