More than 500 million VND for early warning of natural disasters

(QNO) - Save the Children International (SCI) and Quang Nam Disaster and Relief Committee have implemented the project “Establish and Operate the early warning system for natural disasters” funded by SCI from December, 2014 to May, 2015 with a total capital of 530 million VND. It covers 48 communes of 6 districts/cities along  Vu Gia – Thu Bon rivers, including Dai Loc, Dien Ban, Duy Xuyen, Nong Son, Que Son and Hoi An.

The project aims to give early warning of natural disasters in general and flood in Vu Gia – Thu Bon rivers in particular by messages and communication means such as: radios, gongs, drums…

People in the project areas will practise alarm ways, feedback message on the level of flood, damage situation to Quang Nam Disaster Management Committee by mobile phone.
