(QNO) - The opening ceremony of the Mekong Tourism Forum 2022 (MTF2022) took place in Quang Nam on October 12. Present at the event was Deputy Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Tan.
Under the theme of ‘Rebuild Tourism, Rebound with Resilience’, the forum was a chance for in-person discussions about rebuilding a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable tourism industry in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS).
The experts also had insightful conversations about critical trends and issues related to tourism recovery communications, digital transformation, supply chain localization, and capacity-building support and upskilling programs for the tourism workforce, particularly among micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises.
Giving a speech at the MTF2022 opening ceremony, Deputy Chairman Tan said MTF2022 was one of the typical events hosted by Quang Nam in the National Tourism Year 2022.
It was a good chance for Vietnam and Quang Nam to introduce local natural and cultural values and unique tourism products to the public.
The forum also helped to make linkages, cooperation and promotion in tourism, contributing to the local tourism recovery.
A lot of solutions were suggested for sustainable tourism resilience, including quality infrastructure and nature-based solutions.
The MTF is an annual event for tourism development and cooperation in the GMS. The MTF2022 was the first in-person forum since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
