(QNO) - An exhibition of maps and documents to affirm Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos opened in Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province on October 24.
The exhibition "Vietnam’s Hoang Sa and Truong Sa: Historical and Legal Evidence", lasting from October 24 to 26, introduces maps, documents, and photos of Vietnam’s sovereignty over these archipelagos.
According to Director of the Quang Nam Provincial Department of Information and Communications Pham Hong Quang, these maps, documents, and photos are part of the historical and legal evidence.
They are collected in Vietnam and from countries around the world, including China, contributing to proving Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.
Therefore, the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos are inseparable parts of Vietnam’s territory.
The exhibition aims to increase awareness of Vietnam’s sovereignty over its seas and islands among Vietnamese people, including the oversea Vietnamese.
Until now, the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam has organised 101 exhibitions of maps and documents in order to affirm Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos in 63 provinces and cities nationwide.
In addition, the exhibitions under the theme "Vietnam’s Hoang Sa and Truong Sa: Historical and Legal Evidence" were also successfully organised abroad, such as in Prague of the Czech Republic (July 2017), in Paris of the French Republic (October 2017), and in Moscow of the Russian Federation (November 2018).
