(QNO) - A forum on the development of logistics services along the East-West Economic Corridor took place in Da Nang city on August 4th, 2022.
It was part of the International East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC) Trade, Tourism and Investment Fair - Da Nang 2022.
Deputy Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Ho Quang Buu took part in the forum.
Giving a speech at the forum, Ho Quang Buu said that Quang Nam was gradually bettering its logistics services and improving logistics costs in order to facilitate the provincial socio-economic growth and the development of the Central key economic region.
Besides, the development of logistics services encourages the investment and cross-border trading in the localities along the EWEC, and vice versa.
Da Nang is considered one end of the EWEC, an intersection between the East-West and the North-South Economic Corridors, a gateway to the sea from Lower Laos, Northeast Cambodia, Northeast Thailand and Central Highlands.
So, the city plays an important strategic role in the economic development of the Central Key Economic Region in particular and Vietnam in general.
A goal of Da Nang is the city will become one of the major socio-economic centres, especially marine economic centre attached to providing logistics services, in Vietnam and in Southeast Asia.
The forum was an opportunity for domestic and foreign agencies, organizations and businesses to exchange and propose ideas for developing logistics services along the EWEC through Myanma, Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam.
Via the development of logistics services along the EWEC, the potential and advantages of the localities may be exploited absolutely, contributing to the development of the EWEC in the coming time.
