Kim Bong carpentry village is located in Cam Kim commune, Hoi An city, Quang Nam province. It is an attractive destination associated with the development of a busy port in the past- Hoi An trading port.
The village was built in the late 15th century when immigrants from the Northern Delta and Thanh Nghe Tinh region came here.
In the 16th century and the 17th century, Kim Bong carpentry developed brilliantly, making a great contribution to the development of Hoi An trading port by building boats/ships and houses, making civil furniture and handicrafts.
The houses, pagodas and shops in Hoi An ancient town or Nguyen palace in Dang Trong (Inner Region) are imprinted with the talented hands of Kim Bong workers.
Kim Bong carpentry products are not only present in domestic market but also in many countries. The products of Kim Bong carpentry village are now diversified. The quality of the products gain the prestige in the market.
