(QNO) - On May 17, the People’s Committee of Quang Nam province and The World Bank (WB) organized the ground breaking ceremony of the embankment construction of Tay Yen spring. This construction is belonged to the Waste water treatment and water drainage of Tam Ky city project which is assisted by WB in finance.

This important construction will take part in the flood prevention in Phuoc Hoa ward and the central region of Tam Ky city. The total length of the construction is 2,200m, the beginning point adjoins the National Highway 1 and the ending point adjoin the North-South railway (Phuoc Hoa ward).
The construction consisted of embankments, water drainage system, the linking points from households to the water drainage, 5 wastewater pumps, supporting equipments for managing works and 8,000 m3 per day - water drainage operating system.
The total investing capital of the construction is over 21.7 million USD, more than 17.7 million USD of which is from WB’s assistance. This is also the first of 7 water drainage in Quang Nam province to be assisted by WB. It is designed by Kunhwa Company, Ltd. (Korea) and built by Viconex - Ha Noi JS company. The construction will be completed in November 2013.
“The WB valued highly the effectiveness of the projects which have been invested in Quang Nam province from WB’s assistance. In the future, WB will continue to seek other investment capital sources to support Quang Nam province” said Mrs. Vitoria Kwakwa, National directors of WB in Vietnam.
