(QNO) - Under an agreement signed between Japan's Mazda and VinaMazda, the subsidiary of Thaco (Truong Hai Automobile Company in Chu Lai Open Economic Zone in Quang Nam province), the first batch of Mazda passenger cars has been officially exported to Laos. They consisted of car versions which have been assembled in Vietnam such as Mazda 2, Mazda 3 and Mazda CX-5.

This is the start of VinaMazda Company’s plan to export Mazda cars from Vietnam to left-hand drive car markets in Southeast Asia such as Cambodian, Laos and Myanmar... VinaMazda company expects to export 300 cars in 2013, about 3,000 cars in 2014 and 15,000 cars in 2015. This plan is also to wait in front for tariff reduction schedule in order to integrate into ASEAN in 2018.
In 2012, Mazda produced and sold 1,2 million cars throughout the world. At present, Mazda has 15 manufacturing and assembling factories in many countries. In March 2011, VinaMazda, the subsidiary of Thaco was appointed as the exclusive manufacturer and distributor of Japan‘s Mazda Motor in Vietnam. Reportedly, the CX-5 version CKD Mazda car has firstly been assembled since late of last year and was the first global market.By D.HOANG
