International conference on Japanese – Vietnamese literature and arts

The event is organized by the Faculty of Literature, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City National University, with sponsorship from the Japan Foundation.

It is an activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, an opportunity for scholars from other countries to look back at the context of Asian peoples from the past to the present, reflecting on the trauma caused by war, the context of colonization and decolonization, and modern social life.

Then, the desire for mental relief and healing is expressed in the artistic creations.

The conference will be a space for presentations and in-depth discussions about the phenomena of trauma and recovery, focusing on how these phenomena manifest through artistic practice: literature, cinema, theater, visual arts, performing arts, etc.
