(QNO) - Hoi An city (Quang Nam province) is not only beautiful and  attractive to tourists by  the old houses with pink bougainvillea trellises, but also by delicious snacks.

I have come to Hoi An city 7 times. The first time in Hoi An, I spent most of time visiting beautiful landscapes of the ancient town. The other tours, my destinations were… “street foods” shops and inns . In early morning, the bread and banh canh shops with the long tables near the hotels are waiting for serving visitors’ breakfast.

Ms. Phuong’s bread is well-known in Hoi An; however, I found some  other not less delicious. An only 10,000 VND – priced bread loaf with pâté, fried pork, fresh papaya strings and a little vegetable inside can be found everywhere in Hoi An. It is so appetizing that someone can enjoy two loaves at once.

It’s safe and easy for tourists to have meals at Hoi An’s markets. Hoi An has two main markets.  In the main one, the food court serves you from early morning till 7p.m. One of famous foods here  is Ms Xuan’s bun mam (salted-fish sauce noodle). This food has the same name with the one of Mekong Delta region, but differs in its quality. A bowl of Hoi An bun mam  includes noodle (of course), pure salted-fish sauce added with some chilly,  garlic and pineapple, boiled tender jackfruit, boiled pork and some roasted peanuts.  The small pieces of onion leaves added will make this food more flavoured.

Located at a corner of the Hoi An market is another attractive food: corn boiled with black bean. Just spending 5,000 VND, you can enjoy  a dish with full of flavours: corn, black bean, onion  leaves, sugar, grinded peanuts, cooking oil…After eating  bun mam, let take a walk, two or three hours later,  go back to  enjoy  corn boiled with black bean; you will have interesting minutes.

Maybe all specialties of Hoi An city such as Mi Quang, Cao lau, Hu tieu do not just attract  tourists by their flavours, but also by the fresh vegetable which is grown in Tra Que village…The small vegetable leaves add flavours to food and stimulate appetite.
