Infrastructure investment in Nam Giang Border Gate Economic zone

(QNO) - Vice Chairman of Quang Nam People’s Committee Huynh Khanh Toan has just chaired a meeting on trading activities in the province’s border areas.

In 2016, Nam Giang Border Gate Economic zone is allocated more than 20 billion VND for building transportation and drainage systems, Nam Giang Border Gate Economic zone, the key technical infrastructure in sub-area I.

Reportedly in the first 6 months of this year, the import- export turnover via Nam Giang border reached nearly 6.5 million USD. Trading activities in the border  didn’t change much last year. They were small in scale and limited in varieties. However, the security situation in Nam Giang border and Tay Giang sub-border is stable.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman Toan asked for more infrastructure investment  in Nam Giang Border Gate Economic zone to create the premise for the trading development in the province’s border area. It will focus on completing transportation system and control stations in both Vietnam and Laos, effectively deploying Vietnam-Lao Border Trade Agreement, forming specific projects to attract businesses into the border area for trading development.
