(QNO) - According to the analytic data from Google Destination Insights, the number of international searches for tourism in Vietnam is on an upward trend.
It is considered as a positive sign predicting Vietnam’s tourism recovery and its growth.
The number of international searches for Vietnamese tourism has specially increased since Vietnam launched a pilot program to welcome international tourists in 5 localities, namely Phu Quoc (Kien Giang), Khanh Hoa, Da Nang, Quang Nam and Quang Ninh in December, 2021, after two years of lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In October 2021, the number of searches for airlines increased by approximately 15% over the same period of 2020.
However, in December 2020, it soared by 167% year-on-year, and by the end of December it went up again by 282%.
Reported from Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, there were about 4,000 arrivals with vaccine passports to Vietnam under the pilot program to welcome international tourists in 2021.
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Dinh, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Kien Giang, Quang Nam and Quang Ninh are allowed to welcome back international tourists with vaccine passports.
