(QNO) - A conference on evaluation of the conservation and promotion of Hoi An ancient town and My Son Sanctuary was held on September 7.
After 20 years of being recognized as the world cultural heritages, Hoi An ancient town and My Son Sanctuary, and the local natural resources have been synchronously preserved and promoted. As a result, the heritages in Quang Nam has been maintained completely.
In Hoi An, 459 relics have been restored and redecorated since 1999. 72 of them have been repaired urgently. In My Son Sanctuary, 11 Champa towers have been restored and preserved.
At the conference, the legal system of heritages was presented and discussed in order to find out the best methods for effective conservation and promotion of heritages, especially in the period of global integration.
On this occasion, 13 artisans were offered the title of Excellent Artisan; 5 groups and 6 other individuals were honoured because of their contributions to the heritage conservation and promotion.
Also at the conference, 540 individuals and 128 groups who have contributions to the heritage conservation and promotion were given souvenirs by Quang Nam leaders. 11 provincial tourism and hospitality businesses were offered Tourism Awards.
