Hoi An-Japan Cultural Exchange Programme 2013 opened

(QNO) - The 11th Hoi An - Japan Cultural Exchange Programme 2013 was officially opened in Hoi An City (Quang Nam province) on 24th August. 

This annual special event to be organised  to mark the 30th anniversary of Vietnam - Japan diplomatic relationship and The Vietnam - Japan Friendly Year 2013. It is also an important event to strengthen the exchange and co-operation in many fields between Vietnam and Japan as well as to introduce and promote the traditional cultural characteristics of two peoples.

Starting from 23rd August 2013, in five days, more than 50 activities of the Exchange Programme will be held at some places at Hoi An ancient quarter: An Hoi Statues Garden, Song Hoai Square, Hoi An Roundabout, 155 Tran Phu street, 106 Bach Dang street, Chau Thuong Van street, Kazik Park, Hoi An Hotel, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street…The opening and closing ceremonies will be held at the Chua Cau(Japanese Bridge) arc road with an unique art programme to be performed by Vietnamese and Japanese artists such as: Bon dance, Trong Com dance, Sap dance, International dance…

According to the Organising Board, during the 11th Hoi An-Japan cultural exchange, many other profound and unique activities and events will be organised such as: Photos exhibition on cultural exchange and Hoi An-Japanese Co-operation in 10 years “10 years of Hoi An - Japan Exchange and Co-operation Path”, Haiku Poem in calligraphy, Fine Art and handicraft products of Hoi An and Japan; Japanese art photos, Community activity “ One hour for Cleaner Hoi An”, Seminars on Environment protection, experiencing Japanese and Quang Nam cuisine, instructing to write calligraphy, decorating Hoi An lanterns  with Kimono fabric, practising Origami and Kirie art, making Sanuki Udon noodle, displaying Doremon books and fried cakes, Vietnamese and Japanese popular games, sport activities (football,bowling, boats race, handball…) etc…

Hoi An Ancient Quarter will be the main space and Cam Pho Temple will be the central point of the cultural exchange activities. The streets and corners are small stages. The streets Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Tran Phu, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Bach Đang… will be sub-spaces.

from early 2013 in many provinces and cities in Viet Nam, The 11th Hoi An - Japan Cultural Exchange Programme is an important event to tighten the friendly relationship between two countries. All activities in the Cultural Exchange Programme will be a linking bridge for the culture of Vietnam and Japan to go into the people’s life and to help people realize and understand more about a Japan in the heart of Vietnam and reverse...” - said Mr Hiroyasu Ando, Chairman of the  Japan International Exchange Fund Foundation.

The Japan - Vietnam Friendship Year

The diplomatic relation between Vietnam and Japan was officially established on 21st September 1973. In October 2011, in the official visit to Japan. Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe agreed to organise the annual Vietnam-Japan Friendship Year.

Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and his wife paid an official visit to Vietnam on January 16-17, 2013 at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and his wife. On this occasion, the two Prime Ministers agreed to strengthen the strategic partnership comprehensively and announced the opening of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Year 2013 to mark the 40th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties.

The theme of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Year 2013 is “Going along to new horizon - Looking for the share” – To share together the safe and secure feeling. To share the experiences in repairing the damages caused by natural calamity for a safe life. To share together the favour. To share together new technologies which make the life more favourable and easier. To share together wealthy.
