(QNO) - On the occasion of the 16th anniversary of Hoi An Ancient Town recognized as the World cultural heritage, Nguyen Phuc Chu (Hoi An city) has become the street for pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles since 3rd December 2015.
The walking street will work every day with the following time flame: 8:30 am – 11:00 am and 3:00 pm – 9:30 pm in summer time or 9:00 pm in winter time.
This street is located on the south of Hoai river, at the opposite side of the ancient town, along An Hoi Sculpture Garden and Nguyen Hoang night market, which attract many tourist, especially at night.
Walking along Nguyen Phuc Chu pedestrian street, the tourists can sightsee sparkling Hoai river at night, take part in various cultural activities and folk games, enjoy sculpture works, or buy Hoi An’s special and fine-art craft products…
The project of constructing the streets for pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles has been executed in Hoi An city since 2004. Its initial purpose was to reduce noise from motor engines and ensure the safety for tourists. Up to now, the project has become one of typical cultural tourism products and greatly contributed to the tourism development of Hoi An city.
