(QNO) - At the invitation of the mayor of Andong city (South Korea), a delegation and art troupe from Hoi An city (Quang Nam province) participates in the Andong Maskdance Festival since September 27 to October 6.
The performances of folk dances, ethnic musical instruments, and Bai Choi folk singing all embodied Vietnamese cultural essence while also highlighting the beauty of Hoi An's landscape, people, and culture. The meticulously staged "Hat Boi" performance, combining traditional and contemporary art, attracted a large audience.
This year, the festival attracted 34 art troupes from 25 countries and territories, including Japan, Peru, India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Dominica, Latvia, Russia, Malaysia, Thailand, Poland, Taiwan, Cyprus, New Zealand, Turkey, Mongolia, etc.
On this occasion, the delegation from Hoi An city, led by Mr. Ta Ngoc Quy - Head of the Propaganda Department of city Party Committee , along with Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Quang Nam province, held a courtesy visit and meeting with the International Mask Arts & Cultural Organization (IMACO).
Both sides discussed topics related to the preservation and development of folk culture and arts.
