Hoi An ancient town at night – an unique cultural and tourism product

(QNO) - Hoi An ancient town at night has become a special tourism product in Hoi An city, Quang Nam province, attracting many visitors.

In 2004, the event “Hoi An ancient town at night” was honoured with the “THE GUIDE AWARDS” by the VietnamEconomy. Moreover, the event was listed in visiting programme by domestic travel agencies. It was also choosen by international and domestic media for their films, photos, documents and news. It has contributed to promoting the unique and attractive product of Hoi An tourism to all over the world.
Practically, this event, which was born 20 years ago, has contributed to preserving and promoting cultural activies as well as traditional folk arts including Bai Choi singing. It is a basic for Bai Choi in Central Vietnam being recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO this year.

According to Director of Hoi An Center for Culture and Sports Vo Phung, the contents of the event will be keep on being improved to completely describe the culture of Hoi An.
