(QNO) - Hoi An city (Quang Nam province) has recently issued a plan to pilot civilized commercial streets at Tran Phu and Nguyen Thi Minh Khai streets.
The main activities to be implemented include promoting and encouraging residents and business owners to collaborate in creating a civilized street; guiding business operations, displays, and advertisements in the ancient town according to regulations of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee; banning plastic bags and waste; fostering friendly business practices; and upholding the objectives of the "Hoi An - Kindness and Simplicity" project.
The project aims to revamp the streets, develop a trade and service network that fits the ancient town’s character, and gradually transform the area into a civilized, safe, and welcoming destination for shopping and sightseeing.
It is expected that in 2024, Hoi An will begin the pilot implementation of the civilized street program at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai and Tran Phu streets.
By 2025, the program will be extended to encompass the entire ancient town and its surrounding area.
