Along with Ha Noi, Hoi An city of Quang Nam province has been chosen as one of the world’s most popular destinations by TripAdvisor.
According to Travellers’ Choice, Hoi An ranks 11th and Ha Noi 6th on the global list of 25 most popular destinations. At the same time, they are at the 4th and the 2nd positions on the Asian list respectively.
TripAdvisor describes Hoi An- the city on the central Vietnamese coast as a well-preserved example of the important Southeast Asian trading port from the 15th to 19th centuries.
It has long since been a common stop for backpackers and becoming better known to tourists. On the 14th day of each lunar month, the town trades its electric lights for traditional coloured lanterns.
Sights include the Japanese Covered Bridge and the Quan Cong Temple. And don’t forget to let the town’s expert tailors satisfy you with some clothes.
Ha Noi is presented as the charming capital of Vietnam preserving the Old Quarter, monuments and colonial architecture.
Hanoi may have shrugged off several former names, including Thang Long, or “ascending dragon,” but it hasn't forgotten its past, as sites such as Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and Hoa Lo Prison attest. Lakes, parks, shady boulevards and more than 600 temples and pagodas add to the appeal of this city.
