He is now living in Bich An hamlet, Tam Xuan 1 commune, Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province.

A new choice in farming

Hi-tech mushroom production is the model of Nghia’s interest. After studying the methods and techniques of Antler Ganoderma lucidum and Xerula radicata cultivation, Nghia has received technology transfer on mushroom from a business in Ho Chi Minh city.

Accordingly, Nghia’s partner is responsible for mushroom embryo bags of Antler Ganoderma lucidum and Xerula radicata, all techniques for mushroom cultivation, and product consumption.

Xerula radicata can be harvested twice a year. Each phase lasts 2 months after 3 months of plantation. Xerula radicata is intercropped with Antler Ganoderma lucidum, which also gives two phases of harvest.

Xerula radica is sold at the price of 300 thousand dongs a kilogram and Antler Ganoderma lucidum is one million dongs a kilo of fresh mushroom or 4 million dongs a kilo of dried mushroom. Mushroom harvested is packed and sent to his partner in Ho Chi Minh city.

Production development

Hi-tech mushroom production appears more and more in Quang Nam. However, it is expensive and difficult to cultivate Xerula radica and Antler Ganoderma lucidum.

Nghia’s mushroom farming model needs time to affirm its effectiveness but has showed its potential and opportunities for start-ups.

Nghia is planning to receive and master the techniques and technologies for embryo production because it will help him reduce production cost and supply embryos for local residents.

Besides, he will also enlarge his farm to cultivate other types of mushroom such as Cordyceps and other medicinal mushrooms.
