At first, Cao Minh Thien formed a cooperative of agricultural services.

Then he built a 500-m2 plant to farm oyster mushrooms and a 200-m2 warehouse. The cooperative is responsible for tackling and harvesting mushrooms according to schedule.

Thien’s cooperative collects about 1.5 tons of fresh mushroom a month and earns a net profit of tens of millions of Vietnamese Dong.

Besides, the cooperative is also equipped with mushroom driers to make dried oyster mushrooms which were recognised as a provincial 3-star OCOP product.

It is not difficult to farm grey oyster mushrooms but they can easily be covered with green or pink mould, and attacked by insects. So it is necessary to disinfect the mushrooms harvested.

The cooperative can bring in 7 or 8 harvests from a mushroom embryo. The two harvests are 15 days apart.

Currently, Thien’s cooperative is making every effort to enlarge the scale of mushroom cultivation with some other types besides grey oyster mushroom.

At the same time, he is also planned to grow some local typical fruit trees, including  grapefruit, mangosteen, and durian.
