Speaking at an online conference on the action plan to implement the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and European Union (EVFTA) on August 6, Prime Minister (PM) Nguyen Xuan Phuc said this agreement is a “highway” to push the economic growth.
Therefore, Vietnam’s businesses in particular and the whole economy in general must be ready.
An official of Quang Nam said, the EVFTA has opened the road to sustainable development. Under the EVFTA, production and trade must obey the requirements of environmental protection. Traceability is compulsory for export products such as seafood, wood products, agricultural products.
Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam Tran Tuan Anh confirmed, the EVFTA is built on the principle of reciprocity and its interests are balanced for both sides. Vietnam can export more products to EU market. In contrast, Vietnam will also facilitate the access of EU goods to the Vietnamese market.
So, besides the increase of the competitiveness of domestic goods, we need to create a fair and healthy competitive environment for goods from both Vietnam and EU.
According to Mrs. Luu Thi Bich Ngoc, another official in Quang Nam province, under EVFTA, businesses in Quang Nam province in particular and in Vietnam as a whole are required to comply with the Vietnamese labor law as well as international labor standards. It is the way to bring benefits to businesses, especially employees.
It is important that businesses in Quang Nam need to pay more attention on training and improving the quality of human resources, promptly grasp and apply new techniques and technologies.
