(QNO) - Secretary of the Quang Nam provincial Party Committee Phan Viet Cuong and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh received a high-ranking delegation from China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region led by Secretary of the Party Committee Liu Ning on the evening of April 1 in Hoi An city, Quang Nam province.
Representatives of the Department of Northeast Asian Affairs (Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs), Consul General of Vietnam in China’s Nanning, Chinese Consul General in Da Nang City Dong Biyou were present at the event.
At the reception, Secretary Cuong briefly informed his guests of the local socio-economic achievements over the past 25 years, especially its position and role in the Central Key Economic Zone.
Secretary Cuong said, on September 11, 2018, Quang Nam province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in trade, tourism, human resource training, agricultural culture. He hoped for a better cooperation between the two sides.
Chairman Thanh suggested Guangxi cooperating and supporting Quang Nam to produce and process medicinal herbs and silk; with mechanical supporting industry, health tourism, restoration of monuments, free trade zone.
For his part, Liu Ning felt impressed by Quang Nam development and wanted to expand exchanges and cooperation with Vietnam’s localities, Quang Nam included, for mutual benefit and development.
Currently, Quang Nam attracts 9 Chinsese investment projects in the fields of industry, garment and footwear, processing and manufacturing industry, services with a total capital of more than 92 million USD.
