(QNO) - The cultural festival of Cotu ethnic group from Danang city and Quang Nam province themed “Cotu Ethnic culture, where to store community features” was firstly organized at Da Nang Museum on 29 March 2016.

The event aims to promote deeply and preserve Vietnamese cultural values in general and the traditional cultural values of the Cotu ethnic group in particular.
Many Cotu artisans and artists living in six communes: Song Kon, Prao, Ta Lu and Ba (Dong Giang district, Quang Nam province), Hoa Bac, Hoa Phu (Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city) introduced and performed the gong culture, Tung Tung-Ya Ya dance, some traditional crafts such as brocade weaving, rattan and bamboo knitting, wooden sculpture, Ruou can (wine drunk out of a jar via bamboo tubes,). These activities help the local residents and tourists learn more about Cotu’s culture.

On this occasion, a photo exhibition on cultural festivals, traditional clothes and crafts of the Cotu ethnic group was held at Da Nang city Museum.
Reportedly, this festival will be held every year at Da Nang Museum as a main activity of the Vietnamese Peoples’ Cultural Day (April 19).
