(QNO) - The Firmiana Simplex Festival will take place on the Cham Islands from the 19th to 25th of July. The event features a variety of unique cultural, recreational, and entertainment activities.
The opening ceremony of the festival will be held on the evening of July 21, promisingly providing an exciting art show.
During the festival, there will be a lot of activities going on, including the 4th Tan Hiep Commune boat race, a coral summer camp, a photo exhibition of Firmiana Simplex blossoms, a display and performance of Firmiana Simplex hammock weaving, an art performance named Cu Lao at night, the night market on the islands, and a fair for local products at the Cham Island tourist port.
It is expected that, on this occasion, Hoi An will receive the national intangible cultural heritage title for the craft of Firmiana Simplex hammock weaving in Tan Hiep commune.
The event will coincide with the celebration of the 46th anniversary of Tan Hiep commune's foundation.
Additionally, it is an opportunity for Hoi An to highlight the importance of the heritage, raise local awareness, and intensify their efforts to preserve and promote the heritage.
