The Vietnamese Government requires all Vietnamese citizens as well as foreigners in Viet Nam to wear face masks in public places such as supermarkets, airports, bus terminals or public transport from March 16.
Wearing face masks is compulsory for tourists including foreign tourists when visiting Hoi An city, Quang Nam province (Central Vietnam). Quang Nam has set up a task force to monitor and ask foreign tourists to wear face masks while they are in this city.
According to the Center for Culture, Sports, Radio and Television of Hoi An city, all tourists who purchase tickets to visit the ancient town of Hoi An can be given free medical masks to prevent spreading the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).
The centre has aslo spread information regarding Covid-19 in a bid to public awareness about this infectious disease. In addition, the public areas in the city such as ticket booths and toilets are equipped with hand washing and disinfectant solutions.
Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hoi An city Nguyen Van Son said, those who fail to comply with the regulation are slapped a fine if they are inside the city or not allow to enter the city.
