ExxonMobil advances healthcare support for Central Vietnam

(QNO) - ExxonMobil pledged USD 60,000 in 2020-2021 through VinaCapital Foundation (VCF) to repair houses and advance its long-term healthcare capability enhancement programmes in Quang Nam province.

Besides, ExxonMobil also supported tens of billions of Vietnamese Dongs to take care of the health of people in Central provinces of Vietnam.

The company contributed $35,000 in response to the VCF’s call in its Our Hearts to Central Vietnam campaign to support the relief efforts during the Molave typhoon in October 2020.

The fund was used to repair the houses with completely damaged roofs , fix the water system of the Tra Cang Commune Health Centre (CHC), provide medical emergency packages for Tra Cang residents, reinforce the foundation of the Tra Leng CHC, build a new water tank, and solve the drainage problems in Tra Leng commune.

In 2021, ExxonMobil funded $25,000 to VCF’s Survive to Thrive fund with the aim to reduce infant mortality in Quang Nam province through the provision of 13 life-saving neonatal devices to two mountainous hospitals Nam Giang and Phuoc Son.

According to Cecile Rauline- president and general director of ExxonMobil Vietnam, ExxonMobil is working for the needs of Vietnamese communities, especially those in Central Vietnam, where the project is being carried out.

Reportedly, ExxonMobil has contributed nearly USD 610,000 to VCF to help healthcare centres in Da Nang city, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces with modern medical equipment, providing Advanced Pediatric Life Support training courses for medical staffs to improve their pediatric care.

Moreover, the company has given USD 230,000 to Operation Smile Vietnam since 2014 for children’s healthcare in Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and Northern provinces.

At the same time, a total of USD 120,000 has also been sent to Teach for Vietnam so as to support technological devices for education nationwide.
