(QNO) - A famtrip to Kim Bong Carpentry village has just been organized by the Office of Trade and Tourism of Hoi An city and the People’s Committee of Cam Kim commune (Quang Nam province), with the participation of nearly 30 businesses and tourists.

The famtrip delegation experienced cultural and spiritual activities in Kim Bong village, especially participated in the Death Anniversary of the Founder of Kim Bong Carpentry on January 6 (Lunar calendar).

The village was built in the late 15th century when immigrants from the Northern Delta and Thanh Nghe Tinh region came here. In the early 17th century, Kim Bong Carpentry strongly developed thanks to the thriving of Hoi An trade port and became one of the villages of Vietnamese craft quintessence.

Through the vicissitudes of time, Kim Bong Carpentry has not only been conserved but also developed and become a tourism destination.

At this festival, Kim Bong Carpentry was honoured as a National-level Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam.

The famtrip also introduces some new destinations in the village such as the seat of rice noddle making, Huynh Ri ancient house, Anh Vu eco-tourism. They create a connection between Cam Kim commune and Hoi An ancient town and diversify Hoi An tourism products to develop tourism in coming time.
