A closing ceremony of the project on improving sustainable livelihoods of ethnic minorities through the value chains of rattan, bamboo, leaf and medicinal herbs in Quang Nam was jointly held by VietCraft (the Vietnam Handicraft Exporters Association) and Green Annamites Project.
The project on improving sustainable livelihoods of ethnic minorities through the value chains of rattan, bamboo, leaf and medicinal herbs in Quang Nam took place from September 2019 to November 2010 with the support of Green Annamites Project under the US Agency for International Development.
It was deployed in 14 communes of Dong Giang, Tay Giang and Nam Giang by VietCraft.
Reportedly, 98% of 721 households taking part in the project were of Cotu ethnic minority. They were received vocational training, whereby they could earn their livelihoods by making rattan and bamboo products for export.
