(QNO) - The Dat Quang Green Areca Cooperative (Tien Phuoc) has received the support of production equipment valued at approximately VND 200 million as part of the sustainable forest management component.
The handover took place on December 20, including areca sheath splitting machines and a Kosmen 150-litre-a-day dehumidifier.
The handover was under the Sustainable Forest Management component funded by USAID, focusing on boosting productivity in the rattan and bamboo value chains to increase local incomes and support sustainable forest management.
The equipment aims to support the Dat Quang Cooperative with eco-friendly handicrafts, improve incomes, and enhance sustainable forest management.
Reportedly, the new machine can increase areca splint production from 1kg to 50kg in four hours.
The Dat Quang Green Areca Cooperative was founded in 2023 with support from the USAID-funded Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation Project.
The cooperative currently uses natural areca sheaths to produce goods provided for major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. It is targeting export markets, including the U.S., China, and India.
