(QNO) - Recently, Quang Nam OCOP (One Commune, One Product) products have been presented in China, creating opportunities for Quang Nam OCOP products to enter China’s large market.
Connecting export markets
A Chinese businessman plans to visit Quang Nam at the end of this month to directly learn about Quy Thu Coconut Cake Company’s operation.
Earlier, Quy Thu Company and other businesses from Quang Nam province took part in a trade promotion event in China’s Jiangsu province from November 5 to 11 on the occasion of the Vietnam - China trade and investment promotion conference in the fields of industry, food, agricultural products, and fisheries.
It contributed to increasing the export of Quang Nam goods to the Chinese market through official channels.
In September 2023, four businesses’ OCOP and typical rural industrial products of Quang Nam were introduced at the 20th China - ASEAN Expo in China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Quang Nam businesses hoped the province’s agricultural products would penetrate the Chinese market because their OCOP products’ design, quality, and price met the demands of Chinese consumers.
According to the Department of Trade Promotion (Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam), China has been Vietnam's largest trading partner for many years.
On the contrary, Vietnam is also China's largest partner in ASEAN. In the first 8 months of 2023, China-Vietnam trade turnover reached nearly $104 billion.
Quang Nam products have also been exported to the Chinese market, but mostly via unofficial channels.
Promoting the export of OCOP products
Quang Nam province currently has 351 products recognized as OCOP products, mainly in the fields of food, beverages, medicinal herbs, handicrafts, etc. Most of them have beautiful designs and good quality.
Recently, a number of Quang Nam OCOP products have not only been consumed in the domestic market but also aimed at export, especially to regional markets, including China.
Through trade promotion activities in the Chinese market, Quang Nam businesses have been given opportunities to introduce their products, seek business opportunities, and sign deals to develop and consume products, contributing to increasing the export of Quang Nam goods to the Chinese market through official channels.
