(QNO) - As an event of the National Tourism Year 2022, the first regional traditional craft festival in Quang Nam takes place at An Hoi Sculpture Garden (Hoi An city) on May 19-22. It is an opportunity for Quang Nam handicrafts to go out.

Opportunities for development

The festival describes the development stages of traditional craft villages in Quang Nam and other provinces and cities.

At the same time, the event provides Quang Nam with a good chance to introduce the local culture, history, achievements, potential and strengths to the public.

Thereby, Quang Nam traditional handicrafts, industrial, agricultural and OCOP products can find the ways of development.

At the festival, there are also exchanges between artisans from everywhere in the country.

They are expected to help craft villages with mutual understanding, cooperation and support for their development, towards exporting their products, contributing to the post-Covid-19 economic recovery.

Besides, visitors can find performance arts relating to traditional crafts at the festival, including pottery, silk and brocade weaving, mat making, the process of preserving and developing traditional crafts in Quang Nam, Hoai Giang night, and traditional cuisine programme.

In addition, some talks about solutions for craft preservation and development in the period of global integration, solutions to the problems of OCOP, rural industrial and agricultural products, etc.

Reportedly, traditional crafts are on the rise in Quang Nam, providing a lot of jobs for the locals, helping them better their income and preserve the local traditional crafts

An association with green tourism

There are nearly 100 stands at the first regional traditional craft festival in Quang Nam.

They are not only from the host province- Quang Nam but from others such as Ha Noi, Thanh Hoa, Dak Lak, and Dong Thap.

One of the goals of the event is introducing products from craft villages with green tourism to the public in order to promote tourism recovery and development.

Some special highlight programmes at the festival are the launch of Quang Nam smart tourism system, the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement on the development of traditional craft villages, OCOP products, and typical rural industrial products among localities, and launching the Quang Nam products website with approximately 500 products.

It is well-known that Quang Nam has had several policies for the development of craft villages, especially based on electronic trading.

The linkage between traditional craft villages associated with green tourism development will become a great opportunity to develop products and expand the market, towards sustainable growth.
