(QNO) - A delegation of Helvetas (a Swiss development organization) in Asia led by Lionel Giron had a working visit to Nong Son district (Quang Nam province) on April 27.

The Helvetas delegation went to Nong Son to do a survey on the local potential for the development of high-value agriculture and sustainable ecotourism.

At the working session, Chairman of the Nong Son People’s Committee Nguyen Van Hoa talked about the supports from the USAID (United States Agency for International Development) and Helvetas for the development in the buffer zone of the Elephant Species and Habitat Reserve and in Dai Binh ecotourism village.

Also according to Chairman Hoa, there are a lot of potential for tourism and economic development in Nong Son.

So, he hopes Helvetas to help the district to prepare human resources for the local economic development, create sustainable livelihoods for people in the buffer zone.

Lionel Giron - Director of Helvetas in Asia said that this organisation is implementing some projects on biodiversity conservation and sustainable livelihood creation in Quang Nam.

Helvelles started the projects on sustainable tourism development in Quang Nam an Can Tho in April 2023.

On this occasion, Helvetas did a field survey at the planning area for high-tech agricultural development in Cam La village (Que Lam commune) and Dai Binh eco-tourism village.
