Accordingly, Vietnam’s Green Growth Indicators focus on 4 key goals: reducing greenhouse gas emissions; greening economic sectors; greening lifestyles and promoting sustainable consumption; and greening the transition process on the basis of equality, inclusion, and enhancing resilience.

The set of Green Growth Indicators is the basis for monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the National Green Growth Strategy for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 in provinces and centrally-run cities nationwide.

Previously, the National Strategy for Green Growth in the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 was issued by the Government of Vietnam.

It contributes to promoting economic restructuring associated with the green growth model in order to achieve economic prosperity, environmental sustainability and social justice towards a green and carbon-neutral economy, contributing to limiting global warming.
