(QNO) - The Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee has just issued an action programme on economic diplomacy for economic development until 2026.
The programme specifies targets and solutions that are suitable to the provincial development orientation and reality.
Tourism will become the key economic sector, developing community-based tourism associated with local livelihoods.
The annual Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) will be 7.5-8% until 2026, among which industry and construction account for 35.8-36%.
Services are 37.2-37.3%. Taxes less subsidies on products occupy 17.5-17.4%. 9.3-9.5% goes into agriculture, forestry, and fisheries.
There should be a harmonious combination of economic development goals and national security. The special traditional relations between Quang Nam and Sekong (Laos) need to be maintained and developed.
At the same time, Quang Nam should proactively cooperate with localities and partners in ASEAN countries and in the world, strengthening cooperative relationships with international and nongovernmental organisations.
To achieve the goals mentioned above, Quang Nam has several solutions, including raising awareness of economic diplomacy, improving the quality and efficiency of international economic integration , promoting border economic and trade cooperation, and maintaining national border security and sovereignty.
The programme also focuses on the development of international economic diplomacy in order to look for and expand the market, promoting exports.
