(QNO) - The Quang Nam province’s GRDP (Gross Regional Domestic Product) in the first half of this year increased 11.7%, the highest rate in the past 5 years. This figure resulted from the “dual goal” of Covid-19 prevention and socio-economic development in Quang Nam.
According to Director of the Quang Nam provincial Statistical Office Le Quy Dat, the Covid-19 epidemic controlled in Quang Nam has helped a number of key economic sectors recover sooner after a long time of difficulties due to Covid-19.
In terms of the GRDP scale, Quang Nam province took the lead of the localities in the central key economic region, and retained its 5th place out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.
The main driving force for Quang Nam economic growth in the second half of this year is still based on the industrial sector, especially manufacturing and processing industries.
Quang Nam economic development of 2021 is expected to get positive results in the complicated context of the Covid-19 epidemic in the world in general and Vietnam in particular.
GRDP is an important statistic that measures the size of a region's economy. Economic growth will help to better both material and spiritual lives through creating jobs, improving incomes for local people and contributing to the State budget.
