(QNO) - On the over-7-year journey of tourism development, the mountainous region with the Dong Giang Heaven Gate ecotourist site has gradually changed considerably. The name ‘Dong Giang Heaven Gate’ has become well known on Quang Nam and Central Vietnam travel maps.
The Dong Giang Heaven Gate has majestic scenery. It is a meeting place of jungles and mountains with towering peaks, waterfalls, streams, and picturesque caves.
The Dong Giang Heaven Gate ecotourist site came into operation in April 2022.
At the end of 2022, the Vietnam Records Organisation recognised Dong Giang Heaven Gate as "the ecotourist site with the most natural waterfalls in Vietnam." It has a system of 25 waterfalls and streams.
Since then, the number of visitors to this site has continuously increased.
Until now, Dong Giang Heaven Gate has been a new tourist attraction with a wide range of tourism products related to native culture.
In the period of 2022 - 2024, Dong Giang Heaven Gate received more than 120 thousand visitors, increasing 120 times compared to the period of 2017-2019.
According to leaders of Quang Nam, the opening of the Dong Giang Heaven Gate ecotourist site has pioneering significance in bringing to light the potential and improving the standing and competitiveness of tourism services in this mountainous area, helping to foster future tourism development in Quang Nam mountainous regions.
The first phase of the project “Dong Giang Heaven Gate tourist site” has completed. The project will continue to launch a series of other impressive items at the 400m and 800m peak areas, such as a cable car route, Love Peak, a complex of swimming pools and tennis courts, and a culinary village.
In addition, visitors to the Dong Giang Heaven Gate tourist site can experience some activities and services of indigenous culture, such as wicker craft, brocade weaving, cake making, and enjoying the Jungle Dance show.
When the cable car comes into operation, it will be easier for visitors to go cloud-hunting and to observe the waterfall and stream system from above.
The cable car becomes a highlight and attracts more visitors to the Dong Giang Heaven Gate tourist site, making it more developed and contributing to local tourism and socioeconomic development.
The Dong Giang Heaven Gate tourist site persistently pursues the goal and orientation of sustainable green tourism development associated with promoting indigenous cultural values.
It contributes to generating revenue for the local tourism industry, creating livelihoods, providing jobs for the locals, and bettering their lives.
In addition, the Dong Giang Heaven Gate ecotourist site introduces many tourism stimulus packages until the end of 2024.
