This is a conclusion from the forum on Quang Nam farmers and digital transformation in production and consumption. The event, part of TechFest Quang Nam 2024, took place on May 17.

Present at the event were over 200 good farmers and start-ups with some typical projects, such as freeze-dried yoghurt by Tran Thi Minh Thuy from Tam My village (Tam Xuan 1 commune, Nui Thanh), and Thuan An bio-dishwashing liquid by Pham Thi Tuong Vy from Vinh Dien ward (Dien Ban).

The success of these projects is attributed to the use of digital transformation in product production and advertising.

Digital transformation in agriculture is, in fact, the application of smart devices and equipment in farming, thereby helping farmers have a more accurate basis to adjust their production and business properly and effectively.

Currently, the e-commerce platform buudien.vn is a digital transformation tool that helps bring farmers' products to the borderless market.

Buudien.vn launched in 2021, providing free management software for warehouses, products, and orders for suppliers when they use the platform. Every product offered on buudien.vn has undergone quality testing.

According to Le Thi Minh Tam, Chairwoman of the Quang Nam Provincial Farmers’ Association, several farming models have recently applied digital transformation effectively. Therefore, it is necessary to further promote digital transformation in agriculture.

Regarding OCOP products, the majority of the manufacturing sites are outfitted with cutting-edge production lines, but the designs lack visual appeal.

So, access to big markets, including supermarkets, shopping centres, and e-commerce platforms, has not been effective.

The question is how to change farmers’ minds and help them access and apply digital transformation in production and business for better productivity and economic efficiency in the coming time.
