(QNO) - Since the 2022 high-level conference between Quang Nam (Vietnam) and Sekong (Laos), the traditional friendship and cooperation have become deeper.
Leklay Sivilay, the Governor of Sekong, asserted that Quang Nam has provided significant support to Sekong. It reflects a spirit of solidarity, strengthening and fostering the special friendship between Quang Nam and Sekong and Southern Lao provinces.
Quang Nam - Sekong cooperation and exchanges have continuously developed in various fields, achieving significant results. This has contributed to economic and social development, ensuring national security, and giving new opportunities for cooperation.
Quang Nam is always aware of Sekong's substantial contribution to the provincial growth.
According to Le Van Dung, Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People's Committee, recent cooperative activities between Quang Nam and Sekong demonstrate the strong bond between the two provinces. This serves as a foundation for prosperous joint development between Quang Nam and Sekong, as well as Vietnam and Laos.
According to Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Quang Nam provincial Party Committee, Quang Nam and Sekong should intensify their national security cooperation, with a particular emphasis on the border regions. It is necessary for the two parties to enhance their cooperation in training human resources and improve transportation infrastructure through the Nam Giang -Dak Ta Ooc and Tay Giang - Ka Lum border gates.
In addition, the two provinces should invest in socio-economic development to enhance the livelihoods of border residents, building the border area as a symbol of peace, friendship, and cooperation for stability and sustainability.
