(QNO) - The annual conference 2014 between two provinces Quang Nam and Sekong (Laos) was held on 8th August in Tam Ky city. 

Two provinces Quang Nam and Sekong sign the Cooperation Agreement.

In this event, the representatives from two sides focused on reviewing the achievement and results reached in economy, cultural and social cooperation in 2013 and discussed about the cooperation in 2014.At the conference, the two sides highly valued that the cooperation and exchange relations between two provinces have developed in many fields and got significant results. Many cooperation contents and aims which were signed in the provincial high-level conference 2013 agreement by leaders of the two provinces Quang Nam and Sekong were implemented well, such as the cooperation in social safeguarding and defense, implementing the Agreement on Border Management Regulations between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Lao People's Democratic Republic, building the landmarks of common border and holding joint patrols in border areas and education campaigns in border communes to engage local people in protecting political stability and social order,. training human resource and cooperation in agricultural development… In addition, many activities such as professional knowledge further education, inter-locality sports and cultural exchanges, investing capital to build infrastructure, supporting equipments for administrative works between the departments and branches of two provinces…have contributed important part to boost the special friendly relationship, special solidarity and all-sided cooperation between two Parties, two States and people of two countries Vietnam - Laos in generally and between two provinces Quang Nam - Sekong in particularly.During the conference, the two sides discussed many contents and necessary solutions to boost cooperative relationships in the time ahead . The two provincial authorities will create favourable conditions for localities, branches and departments of two provinces to continue to implement the cooperation programmes and plans, exchange management experiences, personnel training and bilateral cooperation across economics, culture, education, science and technology. Besides, two provincial authorities will create favourable conditions for the enterprises and trading firms in investment, production and doing business cooperation. Quang Nam province will receive and give scholarships to 25 students of Sekong province to study at Quang Nam University, other colleges and vocational schools in Quang Nam.The two provincial leaders  will propose the two Governments to approve a project to upgrade the Nam Giang - Dak-Ta-Ooc border gate to international level so as to boost economic exchange and investment cooperation between Quang Nam and Sekong.In this conference, Sekong provincial authority handed over an investment license  to Quang Nam TNXP Construction JS Company and presented 200 million LAK to Phu Ninh district (Quang Nam province) to build the Lower Lao Resistance Zone. Quang Nam authorities handed over a kindergarten it built for Sekong’s provincial town.The leaders of two provinces Quang Nam and Sekong signed a Cooperation Agreement for 2015.
