Da Nang: International cooperation for tourism development

(QNO) - The seminar on advancing tourism development through international cooperation in the city partnership took place in Da Nang on the morning of January 17, 2025.

Speaking at the seminar, Tran Chi Cuong, the vice chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, underlined the need of cooperation for Da Nang's tourism sector to publicise destinations, boost air routes, open up new markets, and exchange management expertise and information.

Da Nang has partnered with 16 cities from several countries, including Cambodia, South Korea, the US, China, Finland, Russia, Australia, Japan, and Thailand, to enhance tourism. The city also collaborates with international airlines and travel agencies for this goal.

Based on the principles of mutual support and shared benefits, international cooperation has boosted Da Nang's global tourism profile, attracting visitors and fostering tourist exchanges.

Da Nang's tourism promotion activities focus on major markets, such as South Korea, Japan, China, India, Australia, and Southeast Asia, via promotional campaigns, famtrips, presstrips, attending international tourism fairs, and running digital media campaigns.

The seminar discussed solutions for tourism growth, strengthening partnerships, developing trend-aligned products, and supporting high-quality workforce training.

Reportedly, in 2024, Da Nang welcomed 4.1 million international tourists, expanded to 15 regular international routes with 52 daily flights, and enhanced global brand recognition.
