(QNO) - A workshop on culture-based green tourism was organised in Hoi An city (Quang Nam province) on September 16 by the Quang Nam Tourism Association and the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, UNESCO Office in Hanoi.
Present at the workshop were Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Tan, more than 100 delegates from international organizations such as UNESCO World Heritage Committee, German International Cooperation Organization, Swiss Sustainable Tourism Project and leaders of local departments, localities and travel business.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Phan Xuan Thanh - Chairman of the Quang Nam Tourism Association stated the association was determined to choose sustainable green tourism.
So, the workshop focused on solutions and models for the development of local green tourism.
At the workshop, the delegates talked about green tourism development such as: the importance of culture-based green tourism development, sustainable tourism, typical cultural beauty of Quang Nam.
On this occasion, the Quang Nam Green Tourism Evaluation Council awarded the green tourism certificates to 11 pioneering tourism businesses in the locality.
