(QNO) - A conference on strengthening cooperation between Quang Nam province and international and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) has recently organized in Tam Ky city, Quang Nam province by the provincial People’s Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.

Reportedly, Quang Nam is one of the Vietnamese localities where more than 80 international organizations (IOs) and NGOs were licensed to operate in the period of 2010-2016. The province received 656 aid programmes and projects from IOs, NGOs, foreign representative offices in Vietnam, foreign individuals…with over 66.3 million USD, including the NGOs’ annual aid of VND 108 billion. The aid focuses on the sustainable development via the improvement of community ability such as production to raise the people’s income, health, education, tourism, prevention and mitigation of natural disasters.
At the conference, 34 projects in Nam Tra Mi, Tien Phuoc, Thang Binh districts and Dien Ban town were introduced to NGOs. Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of Quang Nam People’s Committee said the aid of IOs and NGOs contributed to the province’s socio-economic development. Quang Nam leaders committed to create favourable conditions for sponsors to operate in the province.
