The decision on building the protected area for My Son historical and cultural relics was announced on October 22, 2020.
The 1,160-ha protected area is located in Duy Phu and Duy Hoa communes (Duy Xuyen district).
The area is aimed at protecting the landscapes of the My Son Sanctuary, the historical and cultural values of the relics; at biodiversity conservation, environmental protection and forest ecosystem restoration.
The programmes of the project include forest management and protection, forest ecosystem restoration, infrastructure construction, environmental education and biodiversity conservation.
The 96-billion-VND project will last until 2025.
