(QNO) - The integration of indigenous cultural values into community-based tourism development has achieved initial success in Nam Tra My district (Quang Nam province).
Tak Chuom cultural village (Tra Mai commune) is a new tourist attraction in Nam Tra My district (Quang Nam province).
A lot of visitor delegations went to the village in early 2023, including two Japanese delegations. They were very interested in well-preserved local cultural features there.
Tak Chuom cultural village is home to Ca Dong ethnic people. Going to the village, visitors have a chance to experience the local daily activities, such as farming, harvesting medicinal herbs, preparing and enjoying traditional foods.
In the evening, they can gather around a campfire, participating in cultural activities and gong performances, drinking with the villagers.
Visitors, especially the Japanese delegations are interested in tourism activities there. They said that they would introduce Tak Chuom cultural village of Nam Tra My district to their friends and relatives.
Located in the centre of Nam Tra My district, Tak Chuom cultural village is planned to become a typical place for cultural preservation and tourism development, connecting with monthly Ngoc Linh fair and other places such as Mo Chai cultural village (Tra Linh commune), Lang Loan cultural village (Tra Cang commune), Long Tuc cultural village (Tra Nam commune).
Hopefully, tourism will help preserve local cultural values and better the local lives.
In addition, Nam Tra My is supporting local ethnic minorities to restore common houses, traditional festivals such as water trough offerings, harvest festivals, traditional crafts (including weaving, bamboo and rattan wicker crafts, blacksmithing, and straw liquor), and setting up gong teams for tourism services.
