Impressive results
As a country’s central position, Chu Lai has Ky Ha port which can receives 30,000 DWT (deadweight tonnage) vessels, Chu Lai international airport with 4F standard, National Highway 1A; the North-South train line, and Da Nang-Quang Ngai expressway in the future through it…Moreover, Chu Lai was given many special investment favours by government and Quang Nam authority to attract domestic and foreign investors, such as: declaring the general and specific planning, supplying investment information, accelerating in licensing investment certificate, helping to train laborers…
As of April 30th, 2015, CLOEZ attracted 101 investment projects with total registered capital of approximately 1.4 billion USD. 64 projects among them were put into operation, with more than 836 million USD, reaching nearly 62% of total registered capital. The strong investment and effective operation of enterprises contributed to transferring the economic and labor structure, to Quang Nam development: budget revenue of more than 4,500 billion VND, export volume of more than 119 million USD (up 159%), new jobs for 1,054 labors (up 131%).
Promoting advantages
CLOEZ will be concentrated on the investment promotion for service industry and tourism in 2015 and coming years. Mr Do Xuan Dien- Director of the CLOEZ Management Board said: “Beside Ky Ha- Hong Kong, Ky Ha-Singapore current lines, Chu Lai international airport will open Ky Ha-Busan (Korea) line according to the project of 2016-2017 period. The seaport system (Ky Ha and Tam Hiep) will be also upgraded in this period.”
In term of industry, 3 programmes are being deployed in CLOEZ including: garment supporting industry, automobile-mechanics supporting industry, the cooperation with Oil & Gas Corporation and ExxonMobil to take gas to inland.
The CLOEZ has been a strong attraction to domestic and foreign big enterprises, confirming its position as one of 5 groups of the national focal economic Zone, as a motive force for development in Quang Nam in particular and the central region in general.
