Say no to plastic bags

It takes visitors about an hour to go to Cham Islands from Hoi An by boat. The first sight of that place visitors can see is a poster with the reminder not to use plastic bags on the island.

Besides, the message of saying no to plastic bags appears everywhere there, especially at the market.

People on the island use paper or banana leaf to wrap their products instead. They acknowledge that their activities have contributed to reducing pollution and protecting environment.

The campaign against plastic bags started ten years ago when Cham Islands became one of the destinations popular with visitors but full of plastic waste.

Pollution became a more and more serious problem there. The solution to that problem was launched by Hoi An authorities at that time: Say No to Plastic Bags.
