(QNO) - The Kim Bong Village Festival continues to spread a message of plastic-free events, reinforcing Cam Kim’s commitment to sustainable tourism in Hoi An.
Every Lunar January 11 - 12, Kim Bong village bursts into celebration, filled with the sounds of wood carving, boat building, and mat weaving. Along the river, boats carry visitors while fishermen showcase traditional fishing.
According to Cam Kim Chairman Huynh Ngoc Hung, the festival continues its initiative of plastic-free events. This year's festival also marks the debut of the Kim Bong countryside market, warmly received by visitors.
Vo Phung, Deputy Chairman of the Quang Nam Tourism Association, talked about the plan to make the market a monthly event, creating a new tourist attraction, and promoting Cam Kim’s clean farming to the local market and beyond.
The Kim Bong countryside market stands out for its eco-friendly packaging, recreating a traditional market and promoting sustainable tourism.
When applying to join UNESCO's Creative Cities Network, Hội An launched the initiative “Kim Bong carpentry village-Igniting creativity.” The local government has since invested in infrastructure, guided tours, and community-based ecotourism.
Innovative tourism services, shaped by local participation, have revitalised Cam Kim’s green tourism. Visitors can explore eco-friendly destinations and experience traditional crafts like shipbuilding, mat weaving, and noodle making.
Reportedly, Cam Kim's mat weaving is becoming more and more appealing to visitors thanks to its striking sedge mats and interactive experiences.
According to Dinh Van Loc, CEO of Viet Da Travel, Cam Kim’s transformation is praised, now offering a full-day tour for both local and international visitors.
